SUPERB & RARE GEORGIAN 18thC ANTIQUE TRAVELLING SOLID SILVER CORKSCREW. This stunning travelling or pocket straight pull silver corkscrew is made from silver and steel with ribbed banded decoration. Made by Joseph Willmore in circa 1797, there is only his makers mark stamped on the end of the cover JW with a pellet which is his very first registered mark from 1797. The condition overall is very good and with no damage to the steel worm. The natural ivory coloured handle has a tiny shrinkage split (see photo) which is normal with this natural material. The silver screw off cover is in very fine condition with only age related wear for a silver object over 200 years old. The photos form part of the description.
