STUNNING AND RARE 19thC ANTIQUE TEA CUP. MADE by SCHOELCHER of PARIS, FRANCE BETWEEN 1810 AND 1828. DECORATED WITH BANDS OF GOLD ON A WHITE BISQUE GROUND, WITH STYLISED DOLPHINS AROUND THE BASE IN A CORAL RED. THE HANDLE IS IN THE FORM OF A SEA CREATURE, EITHER A FISH OR SEA-SERPENT. THE INTERIOR HAS A CIRCLE WITHIN A BAND OF GOLD AT THE BASE AND ANOTHER GOLD BAND NEARER THE RIM, ALL IN SURPRISINGLY GOOD CONDITION!CONDITION; THERE IS WHAT LOOKS LIKE A CIRCULAR FIRING CRACK IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CUP, BUT FROM WHAT I CAN SEE, IT DOESN'T GO RIGHT THROUGH THE BODY.
