Late 1700s rare French Domino paper, J. Hand blocked and hand stenciled Domino papers were the first wallpapers and produced in France, by the guild Dominotiers, during the 18th century. The design was produced by ancient printing methods on handmade rag paper. The original uses were for lining trunks, chest of drawers, hat boxes and for book end pages.
They were printed by wood blocks with color accents either hand painted or hand stenciled. This one is glued onto new paper.
